As you know, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates recently, and we've gotten several questions from clients wondering
It's All About Growing
By: Brandon Schleter, March 31, 2017
Tomorrow is the first day of April, and with all the warm weather and rain we've been having, lots of plants are sprouting and flowers are starting to bloom. I love this time of year. As I look around at spring continuing to emerge on a daily basis, I started thinking about growth in other ways and as it relates to what I do for a living.
As financial planners, so much of what we do is all about growth. Of course we are here to help our client families build and grow their money and other assets, but we also thrive on helping people grow professionally and personally.
Our team believes in forming long-term relationships with our clients, which means we often see them throughout the various stages of life as they learn and grow. Whether it's helping people open and manage their first credit card, starting an investment strategy or planning for their first home purchase, we plant the seeds that can then grow into a full and flourishing life.
Of course asset growth is our first priority, and creating customized, long-term financial plans is what we do best. But nearly everything in life is tied to money, and I get excited when people ask me questions about starting a business, finding a way to foster their kids' interests or planning an exciting career move. Many of these questions aren't market or portfolio related, but we always love to find ways to help clients fits these types of life events into their financial plans.
Professionally speaking, while we aren't career counselors, we can be the fertilizer, so to speak, that helps folks grow from entry level recent grads to managers, directors and business owners. We can help budding entrepreneurs save for business expenses and manage their taxes. We can help new graduates navigate their first employee benefits package, and help them set goals for the next decade of their careers. Even those clients who don't have much in the way of assets at this point always have something small they can plant and watch grow. Seeing those ideas grow into businesses, homes and families is one of the most rewarding things about this business.
Speaking of families, we also love to watch our clients' kids and grandkids grow up. Some have even gone on to become clients themselves, with their own set of dreams, goals and seeds to plant. We'll always be here to help those folks make the sound decisions that will help them continue to grow - professionally and personally - along with their portfolios.
