Professional Referrals

We've been talking this month about finding the perfect fit in a financial planning team to help you and your family work toward your goals. We certainly hope that our team is your match made in heaven, as we truly enjoy working with each and every one of you as you move through life's various stages and inevitable twists and turns.

However, unlike in personal relationships, sometimes we have to recommend that our clients form relationships with other professionals as well. You've heard the saying that it takes a village, and we think that's especially true when it comes to your financial life. Not only do we take a team approach to your finances within our office, we will always recommend other professionals anytime you need outside expertise.

People are sometimes surprised to hear that I don't do my own taxes. "But Dave - aren't you a money guy?" Yes, I am a financial planner. But I'm not a CPA or tax accountant. Our team maintains relationships with many professionals such as estate attorneys, CPAs and others. We're experts in our field and we trust the business partners we make referrals to as experts in theirs.

From our perspective, it's imperative for us to maintain these outside business relationships simply because that's an extension of the trust you place in us. Just as you're not going to recommend a financial advisor you don't know to your friends or family, I am not going send our valued clients to anyone I don't personally know and trust. And we always try to find the best fit not only in terms of what our clients need financially, but in terms of personality as well. That's why we have a stable of CPAs and attorneys we work with, not just one.

Valentine's Day is behind us now, and although the fancy dinners are over and the roses are wilting, we hope you and yours created some lasting memories as you celebrated the day of love. When it comes to the relationship you have with our team, know that we are always working behind the scenes on your behalf to continue to earn your trust, and make our relationship even stronger.
