Time to Review Employer-sponsored Retirement Plans

By: Alexander Roig, January 12, 2017

Many of our clients at Family Financial Partners are business owners, and that comes with its own set of financial considerations. For those of you who fall in this category, January is often the best time to review or implement your employee retirement plan. A solid benefits package can help your business land the top talent you want, but keep in mind that there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to the perks you might want to offer.

For those of you who are interested in setting up this benefit for your employees from scratch, let our team know. We can help walk you through the process and answer any questions about types of plans and how they differ for you and your team. Several deadlines hit mid-year or early fall, so planning ahead and getting everything lined up now will make things much easier in a few months.

If you've been offering a retirement plan to your team but haven't reviewed or revised it in some time, there's no time like the present to make sure that what you're offering still fits your business financially and is right for your team. We'll be happy to sit down with you and review your current employee benefits package and make recommendations for any changes.

Of course many of our clients are on the other side of this - for those of you who are employees rather than employers, your open enrollment might have already taken place for 2017, but some do occur in early summer. If you have questions about your options, call us up when that benefits package arrives and let us know how we can help.

Perhaps your employer doesn't offer a work-sponsored retirement plan, or you're a contract or freelance worker and don't have access to a 401(k) or other employee plan. If you haven't already, call us immediately and we'll help you set up an individual retirement savings vehicle that fits your needs.

Retirement planning is crucial not just for your own future, but for the future of those you depend on to keep your small business thriving. Call us today, and let us know of any fellow business owners who could benefit from our planning services.
