Out with the Old, In with the New
By: David Smyth, April 9, 2014
After a long, harsh winter, spring is finally in the air! As many of you know, last week was Spring Break for Fayette County Public Schools. I spent the past several days spending time with the kids, and we’ve enjoyed being able to play outside without bundling up.
Along with warmer weather and sunshine, spring is accompanied by an “out with the old, in with new” mentality. From spring cleaning and putting away winter wardrobes, to planting this year’s garden and sprucing up the house, there’s a lot to do to make the transition from one season to the next. In my house. these “tasks” can be found on our annual Spring To-Do List. Each year, we take an inventory of what needs to be completed to create the list.
At Family Financial Partners, we use a similar strategy when we work with client families. Upon meeting with us, each family receives a planning checklist that is tailored to their specific needs and goals. This checklist includes a variety of tasks and a timeline for completion, and it’s designed by our team to help keep you on the right track.
The planning checklist helps us hold you accountable, and helps you hold us accountable, as we work together to accomplish your financial aspirations. Not to mention, there’s something very gratifying about being able to physically check something off your list!
Most of our client families have already been into our office for an update meeting during the first quarter and received their 2014 planning checklist. If this is you, consider this note a friendly reminder to keep working to check items off your list, and give us a call if you have any questions.
If you’re a client family who hasn’t met with us about your checklist for the coming year, call our office today to set up a meeting or conference call with someone on our team. We’ll take a look at what you accomplished last year, what you’d like to accomplish in 2014, and update your checklist accordingly.
Finally, if you haven’t begun working with our team, what’s stopping you? As you dive into spring cleaning and ready your life for a new season, now is the perfect time to start planning for a successful future. Don’t start the summer with questions about your financial health, or with uncertainty about what you should be doing to reach your goals. Our planning checklist can help give you direction and peace of mind. Let’s start today!
