Memorial Day & a Return to Normal

As we took time over the long Memorial Day weekend to spend time with our families and friends at backyard barbecues, at the lake or the pool, or simply on the patio, it reminded us of just how important it is to interact with people without a screen separating you.

On May 1, we started holding in-person meetings again with those of you who are comfortable, and as I sat by the lake with my family, I reflected on the fact that, over the last month of seeing more and more of you, part of my soul came back to life. Conference calls and Zoom meetings have their place and certainly save time, but I love seeing your happy faces as we move back to face-to-face meetings. We love and embrace technology, but nothing can replace actual human interaction.

Based on our governor’s recommendations here in Kentucky, we do plan to start holding client events again this year, and hope to host our annual Christmas Open House, among others. We are excited to be working on a social calendar! I’m also looking forward to handshakes instead of fist-bumps. It’s just not the same, right? So be on the lookout for social plans from our team as we head into summer and fall, and beyond.

If you are coming in for your quarterly meeting, don’t be surprised by the war zone in our office as we work through the remodel and expansion that was supposed to start in February and end in April, but actually started in April and is still going. (Look for more on building and renovation projects coming in our July series!)

However you spent your Memorial Day weekend, we hope things are returning to some semblance of normalcy for you, and that your heart and soul are full as you reconnect with your friends and family. We hope to see you soon!
