Foundation Update

We love to give back to the community that has given so much to us.

Whether you’re currently working with us or not, I hope that, as you’ve read our weekly thoughts, you’ve learned a little about what we do at Family Financial Partners, and about our philosophies when it comes to helping people organize their financial lives and work toward their dreams.

But did you know we also have a non-profit arm of our business? That’s right. The Family Financial Foundation is our 501c3, and it’s our way of giving back to the community that has given so much to us. We haven’t talked about the Foundation recently, so I thought now was a great time for a little update.

In the nearly 10 years since we launched the Foundation in 2010, our team has carefully chosen local organizations that exemplify our core values at Family Financial Partners. We love to help families who live and work right here in the same community we do. So far, we’ve raised over $100,000 for such entities as the Christian Appalachian Project, Lexington Dream Factory, Lex Care, and Jarret’s Joy Cart. Our fundraising efforts run the gamut from golf outings to continuing education events for local CPAs and tax professionals.

Speaking of these events, we held one just yesterday, here in our office. What? Don’t tell me you missed the Office Open?! We temporarily converted our office into a putt-putt course, and donated all monies raised to The Nest Center for Women here in Lexington. About 100 golfers came through our nine-hole course, and we are humbled and proud to be able to say that we raised $3,000 for such a great cause. Everyone had a great time while learning more about The Nest and supporting a local non-profit.

We actually had a tie for the low score at 13 – between a very seasoned golfer and a self-professed newbie who’d only played mini golf one other time! The diamond stud earrings were won by a great gal whose birthday happens to be next week. Her husband’s quip that his work was done earned a bit of a side glance!

In all seriousness though, we sincerely appreciate each and every person who joined us for this fun day for a great cause. Our mission is to help increase awareness of established, local non-profits that need financial and volunteer support, as we believe helping others is central to building a strong economy for generations to come. Thanks to all of you for helping us continue to do this work. We believe in helping all individuals and families in our community find the opportunities they deserve to better themselves, and The Nest exemplifies all of these qualities.

And, if you missed yesterday’s Office Open, don’t worry! Look for more fun events and outings in the coming months as we continue to raise money in support of Kentucky families.
