It’s hard to believe that we’re just a couple of weeks away from Memorial Day, our kids getting out of school, and the start of summer. For many of you, it also means that the big vacation that you’ve been planning for months is right around the corner.
We believe that those of you who have been working with us at Family Financial Partners for a while likely feel well-prepared for a fun and relaxing summer. Many of you have saved for the vacation, have your legal documents in order, are adequately insured, and have a plan for fall tuition. We’ve reviewed your financial strategies together and know what we need to do to keep you on the right path.
Can you say the same for your summer travel buddies? For your neighbors who are coming over for backyard barbecues? I know that money comes up in conversation naturally during those fun get-togethers, and if your friends are bemoaning the costs associated with this time of year, it might be a good time to ask, “Hey, who’s your financial guy?” See if they’d be willing to talk to yours. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy conversation, but summer really is a great time to do a quick review of where you stand financially.
If you don’t work with us yet, you might not know that we’re a little different than some financial advisory teams. Many people think it’s just about managing portfolios, but it’s more than that. It’s about feeling confident that your entire financial house is in order before you step onto that flight or make that long drive. It’s about ensuring that you have the right insurance, paying bills, and figuring out how to pay those significant expenses — the things you interact with on a daily basis. That aspect of financial advising is something that our team strives to do well at for our families. We help bring order and process to what can be a chaotic task of getting you financially where you need to be.
Maybe that’s a small gift that you can give to family and friends, just by making the introduction to us. Many of you do that regularly, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with referrals. If you’re happy, chances are they’ll be happy, too.
Having a well-built financial house can bring peace of mind, so while you’re enjoying the sunshine and swimming pools, please consider that “Hey, who’s your financial guy?” could help someone else start their own journey towards financial security.
And if you’re not sure where you stand financially heading into the season, don’t hesitate to contact us. Now’s the perfect time.
