This Valentine’s Day, give the gift of a lifetime

As a financial planner, I’ve learned over the years that there is no greater asset than that of human life. I’m reminded of that whenever I see families go from tying the knot to starting a family, from becoming empty nesters to retiring, and finally to celebrating life. We’ve been blessed to walk alongside our clients’ families during each of those steps and celebrate life’s milestones, happy and sad.

Ensuring that each of our client’s families is adequately insured is my single greatest goal. I’ve seen firsthand families whose financial life was protected through insurance, even though the rest of their life was upended due to tragedy. I’ve unfortunately heard other stories of families who weren’t in that same boat because they didn’t have proper insurance planning. It can change the family’s financial trajectory forever. Income replacement planning lies in the hand of each loved one.

This Valentine’s Day, as you’re sifting through greeting cards, candy aisles, and flower shops, take a little time to consider that this is a great time to give the gift of life insurance to make sure your family is covered. This kind of gift can’t be gift-wrapped or sent through the mail, but is there any greater demonstration of your love than ensuring that your children and grandchildren will be taken care of, should something unthinkable happen?

Insuring yourself for the benefit of someone else shows you truly care.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that, when you refer people to our team, we take the time to ask them about their current life insurance strategy. It’s not an easy conversation. That strategy is deeply personal — every single person has a different way they’ve decided to carry it out.

But I want to encourage you to take the time to review that this week. Better yet, let us help you through that process. If someone you know has recently made a big life change — tied the knot, had a child, bought a house, gotten a promotion, retired — take the time this Valentine’s week to put us in contact. Just as we love helping you, we also want to help your extended family and friends ensure they are loved.

Is there anyone in your life who needs to be given the gift of life insurance? It really is the gift of a lifetime.
