Your First Financial Goals: How Far Have You Come?

Depending on how long you’ve been working with our team, you may or may not remember walking into our conference room for the first time. For many of you, we know what brought you in was a referral from a friend when you needed some help getting your financial life in order. Or, you’d just experienced a life change such as marriage, a new baby, a pension buyout offer, a layoff or retirement, and you needed some guidance. Regardless of the reason or how you were introduced to us, you were at a point in life where there was some indecision.

Now, I’ve never been accused of not telling people what to do. That’s what we do as financial planners, right? Think back to the first time you came in to see us, and think of the three or five things you needed answers to or guidance on. Do you remember what those items were? What were your first financial goals?

Last year, we all experienced the shifting and cancelling of our best laid plans as we navigated through Covid. As we turn the page into a new year, our intention during our first round of quarterly meetings is to take a look back to your original days with us – whether that was five or 20 years ago – and revisit those initial goals you set so you can see how you’re doing. As you sit in our conference room either physically or virtually, when you leave that meeting, you’ll take with you a better understanding of the incredible progress you’ve made, and peace of mind that you’re moving in the right direction. Of course we’ll also address any areas that aren’t going as well as you’d hoped and that still need attention.

This way, when you reach that next life stage facing you, there won’t be any surprises and you’ll feel fully prepared for what lies ahead. That’s what our team is here for. All you have to do is work the plan we helped you put in place, and let us do the worrying. If there’s any track out ahead, we’ll help fix it before you derail.

If you’ve been with us for a while, we look forward to seeing you soon! If you don’t yet work with our team, now is a great time to come in for a free initial meeting. 2020 was tough on all of us, but our team would love to help you get back on track and create a plan that works for you and your family. Call us today.
